  • Product Description Marketing:

    Latex Dryfall Flat is a water-based pure acrylic latex for use on ceilings of Commercial or Industrial buildings. This product has excellent light reflectance, contains a flash rust inhibitor and adheres very well to most surfaces. During normal drying conditions, over-spray which has fallen more than standard commercial ceiling height (>14 ft.) can be swept up easily. Approved by the Master Painter's Institute under category # 118 & 133.

  • Surface preparation:

    Surface preparation is important. All surfaces must be smooth, clean, dry, free of mildew, grease, soap film, sanding dust or other contaminants. Remove all loose or peeling material from previously-painted surfaces. Wash all surfaces with a solution of 3 tablespoons of (Phosphate-free) TSP in a gallon of warm water. Rinse thoroughly, allow to dry and then scuff sand using 80-120 grit sandpaper on a hand sander. Remove all sanding dust. Do not apply at temperatures below 10˚C (50˚F).

    WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old lead paint from any surface you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH approved respirator to control lead exposure. Carefully clean up with a wet mop or HEPAvacuum.   • Recommended Primers:

    Pre-Painted Surfaces: Self-priming on properly prepared pre-painted surfaces. Wash with a solution of 3 tablespoons of phosphate-free TSP in a gallon of warm water. Rinse thoroughly, allow to dry, and then scuff sand using 80–120 grit sandpaper on a hand sander. Remove all sanding dust.

    New or Bare Wood: Self-priming.

    Masonry: Self-priming.

    Drywall: Self-priming.

    Ferrous Metals (Steel, Iron): Use a suitable anti-corrosive primer such as Cloverdale 703-Series water-based or 710-Series solvent-based Rustex primer.
